Off to Maternal Leave and Focus on Newsletter : Goodbye 2024
Many of you reached out after my pregnancy announcement with questions: What’s next? When will I return? What happens to ongoing projects? Let me break it down, step by step.
First, I have to admit – I’m genuinely looking forward to stepping back from work and spending more time at home. The past few years have been incredible, but they’ve also drained every last bit of my energy. Activist work, as fulfilling as it can be, took a toll on me. Now, I feel a huge relief shifting my focus to one little soul instead of trying to tackle the whole world.
As for WOM3N.dao, some of you know I decided to close it for several reasons: financial challenges and sheer exhaustion. Running a female-focused network is incredibly important, but it can also be frustrating. Despite the need, active commitment from others often felt fleeting. I felt like an entertainer, constantly on stage, explaining, motivating, and giving it my all – only to realize that other priorities often take precedence. And maybe, it just is that way.
What stays? The newsletter.
t’s my space to express myself as I step into motherhood, and it feels like my audience there truly listens. My goal is to grow the newsletter, to reach more people, and to share knowledge that empowers women and others without me needing to stand on stages all the time. Big plans are ahead, and I’m excited to share them with you. If you’re not already subscribed, the chance is now.
New Start-up is cooking
And yes – before I found out about my pregnancy, I was laying the groundwork for a new startup. The business plan is done, and I’ve even had early conversations with investors. Guess what? That dream is still alive. I’m planning to launch in Q3 2025, and newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear updates.
