PEUGEOT 2008 | the urban Crossover
Customers are demanding for something new – something smaller. Here it is, perfectly for the B-segment. PEUGEOT is presenting the 2008 as a new urban Crossover.
I took the opportunity to test drive the 2008 in a long term, living in the inner city without a fix parking I have to match between city and business car. What I think about this ride? Read it in the text below.
PEUGEOT 2008 1.2 VTi 82 Allure
82 hp sounds to less? Finally it is for me but I didn’t except that the driving will be this optimized. After the first ride I couldn’t believe that this was the smallest engine, the new 3 cylinder offers a real good performance.

Something different, something new!
There are also some innovations in the 2008, for example the Grip Control, to optimize manually the torque on the ground and some assisting systems like Parking Assist or the PEUGEOT Connect Apps. Also a thing I really liked was the easy loading because of the flat trunk sill and the back seat system which allows a fast flat folding. So it is possible to increase the trunk volume from 410 litres into 1400 litres with just one touch.
100.000 PEUGEOT 2008
This is the unbelievable amount of 2008s PEUGEOT sold in less than one year, after launching this little crossover in spring 2013. It was also labelled with “Origin France Garantie” in September 2013 because more than 70% are produced in France and it won nearly 10 awards. It has also required three increases of the production, at the moment 680 vehicles run off the production line per day.
In CONCLUSIO
The world is getting more and more urbanised, everything is in change – as I love the city, I also need to escape from it. I have different demands on a vehicle, it shouldn’t be too big, but I need space for doing some transports, it should look dynamic and chic and also it should be good motorized for my long distance drives. I didn’t expect that I’m going to have this much fun with the 2008 not at all with 82 hp engine, but the balance of this vehicle surprised me. The interior design with all this ambience light features is so beautiful and makes the driving experience different. In comparison to the 2008 with Grip Control I’v test driven in Tignes I would absolutely prefer the Grip Control model.
